Short, bendy variety . Overall bush has a dark appearance. Rito blades are a bronze colour. Reddish-brown margin and keel. Brownish-purple kōrari. Flowers well.
Green kete harakeke. Not good for muka.
|Muka extraction||With care, small amount of muka extracts. Some leaf matter sticks to fibre, para sticks also. Fibre weak, easily damaged when para removed with knife. Feels like Wharariki (Phormium cookianum).|
|Raranga - unboiled||Easy to soften. Good beginners flax. Whenu soft and supple. Could work well for whāriki.|
