The New Zealand Environmental Perceptions Survey is based on the Pressure-State-Response framework for environmental reporting. Initiated by Lincoln University in 2000, the survey has been conducted every 2-3 years since.
One objective of the Environmental Perceptions Survey is to monitor changes in New Zealanders’ environmental attitudes, perceptions, and preferences over time through repeated measurement. The survey also provides independent commentary on environmental issues of public concern, both as a contribution to public debate and as a way to alert government and other interested parties to these issues.
Manaaki Whenua – Landcare Research has led this project since 2022.
