The Land Resource Information Systems Portal
The LRIS Portal provides access to over 300 data layers.
Users can download GIS data as Shapefile (SHP), FGDB, DWG, MapInfo, CSV, Google Earth (KML). More advanced users can use the APIs (Application Programme Interfaces) to stream data directly into desktop applications such as GIS tools and web applications. Metadata and supporting documentation is also available and can be downloaded to support use of the data.

The LRIS Portal and other LRIS web applications are hosted by the Informatics Team at Landcare Research. We are a team of 40 data researchers, software developers and system engineers with deep experience in managing specialist science data resources and using them for our research and to support natural resource policy and management. We have particular specialist knowledge of geospatial datasets, satellite image analysis, taxonomic data, laboratory data and web-services.
