How is the Survey of Rural Decision Makers different?
The Survey of Rural Decision Makers is different from other surveys because it focuses on what makes you tick. Yes, it starts with some pretty standard questions about land use and management. But then it focuses on what makes you tick and a farmer, forester, grower, or lifestyle block owner. Topics where we dig a little deeper this year include well-being, burnout, and who you trust for information and advice when making decisions.
Am I eligible to take part?
If you’re a farmer, forester, grower, or lifestyle block owner or if you represent a rural trust, we’d like to hear from you. If you’re not, then please give this survey a miss.
What’s in it for me?
- The Survey of Rural Decision Makers allows you to share your experience and expertise so policy makers, industry, businesses, and scientists better understand the future of primary industry.
- We share results back with you; look at data from previous years to see how your operation compares.
- We donate $10 for every completed survey we receive – up to $30,000 – and you can choose the charity you want to support. This year, we’re supporting Farmstrong, the QEII National Trust, Retired Working Dogs, and the Westpac Chopper Appeal.
- Everyone who completes the survey goes into a prize draw for one of five $500 supermarket vouchers.
How do I participate?
The 'sign up' link takes you to a form to register. You will then receive an email with your confidential, personalised link to the survey. The survey is smart so you'll only receive questions relevant to you, taking approximately 30 min to 60 minutes to complete.
Is the survey optional?
Yes. And you are free to stop the survey at any time.
Is my data confidential?
Yes. Any information we collect is treated confidentially and is stored on password-protected servers so it remains so.
