Specialist in insect rearing, field of science is the biological control of weeds, manager of Quarantine facilities, expert in insect rearing and host specificity testing.  Recognised for working with community groups in New Zealand.  Has contacts and extensive networks in Australia, UK, Switzerland, France, Hawaii, Colombia, (Sth Am), Oregon, California, Tasmania, Japan. Currently working on the biological control of these weeds; gorse, broom, ragwort, old mans beard, thistles, banana passionfruit, boneseed, St John's Wort, tutsan, Japanese honeysuckle, moth plant, dung beetles, farmer based community groups,
