Venue and Eating
The Palmerston North Convention Centre is located at 354 Main Street, just off The Square and right in the centre of town.
Palmerston North is reputed to have the highest number of restaurants, eateries, and café bars per capita in New Zealand. Many restaurants, cafes, and bars are located close to the Convention Centre, including on George Street, around the Square and on Broadway Avenue. There is a vast selection of ethnic food options, including Thai, French, Chinese, Indian, Korean, Japanese, Cambodian, Mongolian, Italian, Irish, American, Pacific rim and, of course, New Zealand cuisines. Coffee is very important to many Kiwis so there are plenty of coffee shops. There are also great places to try New Zealand wine and craft beer. Two supermarkets (Countdown at the Plaza, and Pak ‘n Save on Fergusson Street) are also nearby. There are shops on George Street, around the Square, and in the Plaza. A movie theatre is located on Broadway Avenue.
