Research interests

My research aims to increase understanding of geomorphic processes to improve sustainable land management in New Zealand’s pastoral hill country. I am currently undertaking a PhD aimed at quantifying the effectiveness of biological soil conservation measures at landscape to catchment scales, specifically assessing the influence of space-planted trees on rates of landslide erosion. My previous research experience spans multiple disciplines, including disaster risk reduction, knowledge systems, geomorphology, and environmental change in Sub-Saharan Africa.
