Brushtail possumDENSITY: Mark–recapture estimation of population density.

Density implements the method of Efford (2004) for estimating absolute population density from closed-population samples.

Density also provides:

DENSITY 4.1 is now available at www.otago.ac.nz/density/

It includes a full implementation of likelihood-based methods.

DENSITY 4.1 implements new methods for estimating the density of animal populations from capture-recapture data collected using an array of 'detectors'. Detectors may be live-capture traps, with animals uniquely marked; they also may be sticky traps or snags that passively sample hair, from which individuals are distinguished by their DNA microsatellites, or cameras that take photographs from which individuals are recognized by their natural marks.
