Classification and identification of Tepakiphasma Buckley and Bradler

This monotypic genus is known from only two specimens collected from Te Paki at the far northern tip of New Zealand.

Tepakiphasma ngatikuri Buckley & Bradler 2010

They were collected from climbing rata (Metrosideros perforata). The female is relatively large being over 10 cm long. Due to the extremely restricted geographic range of this genus it is of high conservation concern.
