DistributionAustralasian Biogeographic Region Rest of the World Taxonomic PositionCoquillettidia tenuipalpis is the only species in the Tenuipalpis in the endemic Austromansonia (Belkin 1962). Characteristic FeaturesCoquellittidia tenuipalpis is readily distinguished from iracunda by its larger size, and on the lower surface of the wing, the base of the subcosta has a large patch of setae (Belkin 1968). |
