International Year of Biodiversity
The United Nations has declared 2010 to be the International Year of Biodiversity (IYB). It is a year for celebrating life on earth and an opportunity to increase understanding of the vital role that biodiversity plays in sustaining life on Earth.
Landcare Research is engaged in extensive research programmes to document, protect and restore indigenous biodiversity; increase the effectiveness of conservation; and to raise awareness of the importance of biodiversity and ecosystem services to our health and well-being.
