Mosquitoes

Only female mosquitoes bite.  They find their target using signals their victim’s body gives out (heat, smell, breath).  The mosquito sticks her proboscis (like a drinking straw) into the victim and sucks up their blood.  The mosquito adds a chemical to stop the victim’s blood from clotting.  Mosquitoes can spread disease such as Ross River virus.
