WaspFollow that wasp

German wasps invaded New Zealand in 1944.  The wasps stowed away in cases of aeroplane parts brought from Great Britain and stored at Hamilton.  They quickly spread throughout New Zealand.  In the late 1970s a closely related species, the common wasp, arrived as a stowaway. Two species of paper wasps have also invaded.
