Ants can sting, bite or, in some species, an ant may do both. Ant
stings are similar to those of wasps and bees. Ants bite using their
mandibles (jaws). Some ant species spray venom into the wound after
biting. A
fire ant can bite, and then sting again and again around the bite
site.
