The Atrium
One of our design objectives was to ensure that all office work-stations or desks were no more than 5m from a window. To achieve this, we incorporated a central atrium with most offices facing this space so that they have access to fresh air and natural light. The courtyard will provide a sheltered outdoor relaxation space.
Offices facing the atrium have opening double-glazed windows.
Timber-framed walls are insulated with R4 fibreglass batts, enclosed with a vapour seal layer, and covered with profiled metal cladding.The roof is insulated with R5 fibreglass batts, giving both the walls and ceiling a level of insulation that is several times greater than that recommended by the Energy Efficiency and Conservation Authority (EECA).
