The carving in the entrance to the Fleming Building, Lincoln

This whakiro (carving) stands in the foyer of the Fleming Building at Lincoln.

It was carved by master carver Riki Manuel of Ngāti Porou.

Riki works from the Toi Mana Gallery in the Christchurch Arts Centre. There is a biography about Riki on the Te Papa web site.

The carving was bought by Oliver Sutherland, ex-Biodiversity Science Manager.
